Operations/Field Engineer I (Houston, TX):


The successful candidate will provide an operational link between project management, engineering and drafting, and all field services and operations (both onshore and offshore) on projects as assigned. The Operations Engineer specializes in mechanical equipment preparation, testing, mobilization activities, and project execution. As the technical liaison on assigned projects, this role requires significant coordination and communication between key company interfaces.


Job Accountabilities & Responsibilities:


• Collaboration with operations and project management to develop and execute unique resource plans for each project to ensure their safe, timely, and successful completion.
• Development of hydraulic drawings and calculations for specialized equipment that meets the performance requirements for each project. Equipment includes, but is not limited to hydraulic winches, hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic power units and associated controls.
• Development of project specific technical documentation and procedures such as commissioning, testing, inspection and refurbishment checklists, field installation and operational procedures, etc.
• Develop detailed equipment manifests to ensure successful project mobilizations in conjunction with project management.
• Work closely (hands on) with all aspects of field operations to provide guidance and technical support, as well as feedback to project management and engineering.
• Ensure that safety and quality management systems are integrated into all field operations.

 

Knowledge & Skills:


• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Strong technical and communication skills
• Excellent problem solving and leadership ability
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in team environment
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (outlook, word, excel)
• AutoCAD Mechanical 2D experience or training. 3D geometric modeling experience such as Inventor or Solidworks is a plus.

 

Education & Experience:


• Must be willing and able to work outdoors and in shop environments as required to support project work
• Industrial or educational related internships or past work experience is preferred.

• Ability to travel, as required, to onshore and offshore project locations
