Designed and built in response to the large number of platforms toppled by hurricanes into the Gulf of Mexico, the Versabar Deck Salvage System has completed three successful seasons of debris recovery.  As an alternative to time-consuming and hazardous piecemeal recovery, the Bottom Feeder recovers platforms in a single piece, affording offshore operators greatly reduced exposure.  With a patented bio-directional truss-to-barge connection and a 4,000-ton lift capacity, the Bottom Feeder has the ability to safely lift and level platforms of uncertain weight and center of gravity, and can resolve skewed loading issues due to sea-bed penetration by the structure.  The Bottom Feeder is another example of engineered solutions by Versabar that are not dependent upon any specific class of assets or equipment but are optimized to meet the client’s requirements.
