Job Descriptions
Rigging Engineer
A graduate rigging engineer will work in the Houston rigging department under the guidance of the Engineering Manager and other rigging engineers. Rigging engineers are responsible for the following daily activities:
- Taking an initial clients request for a custom lift system and developing a basis for design
- Performing conceptual designs
- Developing commercial and technical proposals, presenting these to the client to reach acceptance
- Completing detailed design
- Coordinating rigging component fabrication, assembly and testing
- Coordinating shipping and field operations
- Project invoicing and change order managing
Testing Engineer
A graduate test engineer will work in the Houston testing department under the guidance of the Testing Manager and other testing engineers. Testing engineers are responsible for the following daily activities:
- Taking an initial clients request for a custom lift system and developing a testing specification
- Based on testing requirements develop testing proposals including technical and commercial content
- After award of the project completing detailed design of the testing set and associated testing procedures
- Coordinating rigging the fabrication of custom components need to perform the test
- Monitor the test set-up in the field and brief field staff on operations procedures
- Monitor the actual testing and coordinate client witnessing as required
- Document test results and provide all inspection reports
- Project invoicing and change order managing
Mechanical Systems Engineer
A graduate mechanical systems engineer will work in Houston under the guidance of the Mechanical systems Manager. A mechanical systems engineer is responsible for the following daily activities:
- Providing technical support to field technicians on the maintenance of the Versabar fleet of diesel-hydraulic winches and chain jacks as well as yard equipment. This will require considerably time in the field with the technicians to diagnose maintenance requirements and developing repair plans.
- Monitoring scheduled maintenance programs on all major items of equipment. Development maintenance programs for new items of equipment.
- Support project staff in specifying hydraulic equipment for project application.
- Developing design bases for new items of mechanical equipment.
- Performing the mechanical and structural design of hydraulic winches, chain jacks and diesel hydraulic power units. This will include hydraulic flow schematics and specifying hydraulic and mechanical components.
- During the fabrication of mew mechanical systems interface with the Versabar fabrication yard(s) and machine shop(s).
- Develop operations manuals for new items of equipment
