Job Descriptions
Mechanical Systems Engineer
A graduate Mechanical Systems Engineer will work in Houston under the guidance of the Mechanical Systems Manager. A Mechanical Systems Engineer is expected to participate in the following activities:
- Provide technical support to field technicians on the maintenance of the Versabar fleet of diesel-hydraulic winches and chain jacks as well as yard equipment. This may require time in the field to assist technicians “Hands-On” to diagnose maintenance requirements and to develop awareness of Versabar operations and equipment.
- Monitor scheduled maintenance programs on all major items of equipment. Assist in the development of maintenance programs for new equipment.
- Support project staff in specifying and procurement of Hydraulic equipment for a variety of project applications.
- Support development of design basis for Mechanical Equipment.
- Assist to perform the Mechanical and Structural design of hydraulic winches, chain jacks and diesel or electric hydraulic power units. This may include hydraulic flow schematics, equipment performance analysis and direct contact with 3rd party or outside resources.
- During the fabrication of Mechanical Systems and Equipment the Engineer will interface with the Versabar fabrication yard(s) and machine shop(s).
- Support Development of Operations Manuals for new items of equipment and Systems.
- Candidates with 3-5 years of direct relevant design or manufacturing experience on Rotating Hydraulic Equipment experience are preferred.
Structural Engineer
Versabar, Inc. in Houston, TX seeks Senior Structural Engineer to:
- Generate finite element models using ALGOR and Genie software packages.
- Perform Front-end Engineering and Design (FEED) for deck salvaging
- Work on code driven structural design for calculations
- Perform and document detailed lift analysis including rigging and dynamic factors
- Engineer and design new structural components like beam packages, winch skids, turndown sheave structures as required for the project
- Must have Master's degree in Structural Engineering and experience.
